The satellite Hylas 2 was launched on 2 August 2012 with an expected lifespan longer then 2027. At it’s orbital location at 31° equipet with 24 Ka-band transponders the satellite provide two-way communications services for high-speed VSAT and telecommunication.

The Beams are on Nothern and Southern Africa, Eastern Europ and the Middle East. It’s use is for TV broadcast as well as communication channels, point-to-point connection and VSAT (iDirect, Newtec, UHP, Comtech) networks for  corporate customers.

24 active Ka-band user beams and six gateway beams to provide two-way communications services for high-speed delivery of data to Northern and Southern Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Also equipped with a steerable spot beam which can provide coverage anywhere on Earth that is visible to the satellite.
